Week 1 Print

Anh Bảo started by explaining why the instructors will be “orchestrating” the class & how each of the students will have a share in teaching fellow students.

Anh Bảo introduced a new student to the class.

 

Lesson 1 – Anh Long taught tones & sounds using combinations of one & two letters with different tones.

The class was then split into two smaller groups & practised tones & sounds with anh Long & anh Bảo.

 

Lesson 2 – Anh Bảo taught basic conversation using the communicative approach.

Anh Bảo & anh Long followed by anh Bảo & chị Lee demonstrated how we should greet others.

Everyone then stood up & practised greeting others, asking them how they are & what they did today. The students wrote the answers they were given on their sheets.

Homework - students were asked to learn the names of the tones by next week.

 

Lesson 3 – Anh Long taught tones & sounds using combinations of two & three letters with không dấu & dấu sắc. The class was then split into two smaller groups & practised tones & sounds with anh Bảo & anh Long.

 

Lesson 4 – Anh Bảo taught numbers 1 – 10 using flashcards. It was then time for some fun with balloons! Students split up into pairs & practised counting while hitting the balloon to their partner.

Homework – Students were asked to take balloons home & learn numbers 1 – 10 by next week.

Lesson 5 – Anh Long taught Tones & Sounds using combinations of 4 letters & không dấu & dấu sắc.

 

Lesson 6 – Anh Bảo taught a basic field service presentation, using the backwards build up drill method.

The students were given a handout & then split up into pairs & practised their presentations. Students were encouraged to use the presentation in the ministry this afternoon.

Homework sheet was given out.  

Phoneme Chart was given out to help with some of the Vietnamese sounds that do correspond with English ones.
