Warm up Exercise Musical chairs to Vietnamese music - lots of fun listening to a Vietnamese Cha Cha.
Lesson One - Tones and Pronunciation Revision of the Alphabet. Anh Son then taught the class to spell. Two students at a time went up on the stage. One would choose a word and the other would asked how it was spelled. The first student would have to spell the word and Anh Son would write it on the board. Remember the phrase "chữ này đánh vần ra làm sao?"
Lesson Two - Summary of Language Learning Methods The class received a summary of all the methods that have been used for the class. Use this booklet as you continue learning Vietnamese.
Lesson Three - Reading comprehension Anthony gave each student a handout of an experience from the March Awake - Page 8. The class broke into four groups and each with an instructor they read through and marked the words they knew. It was amazing how much the students understood! And, with a few extra words here and there they were able to understand what the article was talking about.
Lesson Four - Tones and Pronunciation More spelling practice with two students on the stage as in lesson one. The class then received a handout explaining the process one needs to go through to spell a word. The class then received the 'T Story', another Vietnamese tongue twister.
Lesson Five - Class time for final assignments Lesson Six - Culture An extra special culture lesson this week - an interview with Eric and Phoebe Beadle. Read the notes here. Lesson Seven - Field service Due to time constraints we didn't have time for this lesson. Continue with bible study presentation. Homework As per homework sheet. |
