Lesson 2
(Worksheet) Vietnamese is a mono-syllabic language, however words often join together to expand on meaning or to create new meaning. For this lesson we focused on the Fruitage of the spirit. All aspects of the fruitage of the spirit are made up of two words each, to accurately convey the full meaning. The fruitage of the spirit also illustrates how composite words work in Vietnamese.

Lesson 3
Revision of Phrasebook. What phrases have you found useful? How long have you been in the truth? Have you ever thought about…? Please say it again but slowly. We have finished the 100 words, now we are moving on the 300 spiritual words and the 800 common words. The class learnt a new method of learning these words. Picture Flash Cards. The amazing benefit of this method is you don’t need to use the English equivelants. Just see the picture – associate it with the Vietnamese word. The class used 21 spiritual terms based on attitude and conduct.

Lesson 4
New Sounds on page 16 and 17. OM / OP / OT / OC / ONG (also ÔNG is pronounced the same, but we will learn more about that later) OAY / OEN – OENG

Lesson 5
Vietnamese Language Structure. This week we learnt the use of SỰ. We also learn the imperatives – ĐI and HÃY and the negative imperatives – CHỚ and ĐỪNG. These words for the moment are mostly for your reference, so you will understand them when you hear them.

Lesson 6
Witnessing presentation. Revision of responses we receive in the ministry. The class is still working on trying to remember our earlier presentations so we can be more conversational at the doors. The class had a 10 minute practice session for the presentation from week 4.
