Rejoice! This week's lesson was on connectives (words that join one half of a sentence to the next half) and their importance in Vietnamese language. You will see these connectives in written language everywhere, especially in the publications. Using this worksheet you will be able to know the meaning of these connectives.
Lesson 3
How did you go with your flash cards? The students had some really impressive flashcards! Some cut out from magazines, others had drawn their pictures themselves. Some even had two pictures - one to represent the meaning and the other to remind them of the sound. New flash cards for this week! We did 8 new words today matching to these pictures Tiên phong đều đều Regular pioneer Tiên phong phụ trợ Auxiliary pioneer Hội thánh congregation Ma quỉ Devil (picture is of a Tasmanian Devil) Phòng Hội Nghị Assembly Hall Báp - têm Baptism Bê - tên Bethel Nhà thờ church Lesson 4
New sounds as found on page 19 Ô / ÔI / ÔM / ÔN / Đ Make sure you practice the differences between ÔI and OI, ÔM and OM, ÔN and ON
Lesson 5
More language structure - Pluralisers and Categorisers (SO much fun!) Don't worry about getting these perfect or learning every possible categorizer (you'll only go mad). You will learn these as you learn more nouns. These worksheets just let the class know what categorisers are and to get them on their catergoriser learning journey.
Lesson 6
The class has been mixing and matching their presentations. This is fantastic! It helps you learn your presentations and say what you personally want to be able to say at the doors. We had some demonstrations of some modified presentations, then we did the questions worksheet. This worksheet is great! The first and third columns have the beginnings to questions we all want to be able to ask, and you can change the endings (columns 2 and 4) to make new questions! Find an alternate ending for each of these questions and you will be able to ask 8 or more really useful questions in the ministry. Of course understanding the answer is another story...but hey, we'll be able to ask!
