Lesson 1 - Anh Long started the day teaching tones & sounds. We were introduced to a new tone – dấu nặng. Anh Long explained that the end sounds of words are not so important when speaking Vietnamese.
Students received 2 worksheets: Week 2 - Tone and Sounds. Lesson 2 - Anh Bảo told the class about a man called Paul Janulus who can speak many languages. The class learnt a new & amazing language learning technique called “Universal language generation”. The class then had a few minutes to write 3 or more of their own sentences using this technique. They then split into smaller groups & practised what they'd written, saying them at least 15 times.
It was then time for a break & an opportunity for the students to try out a popular Vietnamese snack & hot tea.
Lesson 3 - Anh Long taught tones & sounds, using various combinations. The class then split into 3 smaller groups & practised.
Lesson 4 - We were very happy to have Anh Lộc join us this week as one of our instructors! Anh Lộc taught days of the week & months of the year.
The class was then split into 3 smaller groups to practise.
Lesson 5 - Anh Long taught tones & sounds.
Lesson 6 - Anh Lộc taught the first 5 books of the Bible & it was time to learn (play!) with balloons.
Lesson 7 – Anh Bảo added to the field service presentation that was taught last week. It was then time to split into pairs & practise. Students were encouraged to put into practise what they've learnt out witnessing this afternoon.
Homework: Students received a homework sheet.
