Week 6 PDF Print E-mail

Lesson 1
(Worksheet)
New Vowel  " I "(also Y is the same)
New sound "GI" Pick your sound! Will you speak Northern or Southern?
The sound you choose is up to you, however, try to stick to the one you choose. Perhaps an exception to this is if you choose to speak with the Southern “Y” sound, you may still wish to pronounce Jehovah’s name and Jesus’ name with the Northern “Z” sound – (this is not by any means a requirement, some consider it to be more respectful)
New sounds IA and IÊU –IU (the same). Recordings: http://db.tt/avql5qk

Lesson 2
More word associations for the 100 words.
Revision of last week’s word associations – students did so well remembering them! 15 new word associations. Some students shared their own word associations. Have you made up any of your own? Use them for your homework this week & share them with others.

Lesson 3
ULG – My Family
This week we changed the subject of our ULG to "My Family". The class went through a few combinations with anh David, then some made up their own combinations. The students were given a few minutes to write down some combinations, then shared them with the class.
Quick explanation of the importance of knowing where someone comes in the family and the appropriate title to call them. The class was given a handout discussing the most common terms in the family (there are many more but as language students it is unlikely we will need to use them). Recording: http://db.tt/avql5qk

Lesson 4
(Worksheet)
New Sounds IÊN – IÊNG – YÊN – all the same.
IÊM – YÊM – IM – all the same
INH – IN – almost the same
IP – IÊP – only dấu sắc and dấu huyền apply to these sounds.
IÊT – YÊT – IÊC all the same and again only dấu sắc and dấu huyền apply
IT – ICH – the same and again only dấu sắc and dấu huyền apply

Lesson 5
The question ‘HOW’.
The how question is very difficult to cover. Whilst we covered all the other questions in one lesson a few weeks ago, the ‘how’ question will be covered over two weeks. The general explanations can be found on the hand-out sheets. Familiarise yourself with these explanations, use your homework to get some practice at using the different questions and ‘how’ statements and if you have any questions please raise them next week.

Lesson 6
(Presentation)
Each student received a ‘Peaceful New World’ tract. The class paired the words in the title of the tract that go together. This week if you feel up to it, use a scripture in your presentation! Anh David chose Ps 37:29 and the class paired the words in the scripture together. Anh David added to the presentation already learnt, then everyone got up and practiced their presentation in pairs.
