Lesson 2 - Anh Bảo added to the student's vocabulary with some common words for items of clothing. (worksheet) Students took turns reading words while their partner wrote what they heard on the board.
Lesson 3 - Anh Long taught our final lesson on TONES & SOUNDS. ƯỚC/ƯỢC, ƯỚT/ƯỢT, ƯỚP, ƯN/ƯNG, ỨC/ỰC, ỨT/ỰT. (worksheet) Students also received a summary of all TONES & SOUNDS learnt (worksheet) Students were reminded to keep listening to the TONES & SOUNDS recorded as this is a huge help for language learners. We really appreciate anh Long's patience & hard work over the past 13 weeks teaching tones & sounds!
Lesson 4 – DICTATION with anh Long (worksheet) Students were given a sheet with words missing tones. Anh Long slowly read the 14 sentences & students wrote the missing tones on their worksheet. Worksheets were collected to be marked & will later be returned to the students so they can keep track of their own progress. Blank dictation sheets were also provided for the next few weeks of dictation.
We had some visitors in class today. Here are a few notes from their (INTERVIEWS)
Lesson 5 – Anh Bảo reviewed the students translation of the NARRATIVE. Wow, students did a FANTASTIC job on this. Well done everyone! The saga continues...students were given (chapter 3) to translate for next week.
Lesson 6 - The students were given this (COMMUNICATION EXERCISE) & asked to translate the questions to use next week in class when they interview some of our Vietnamese brothers & sisters.
Lesson 7 - GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS STORY (worksheet) Learning opposites helps language retention. Students were asked to begin writing their own GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS story to read to the class next week, you will add to this story each week so make it interesting & funny as humour also aids language retention & it will make the exercise more enjoyable. The GOOD news is: We look forward to hearing your stories next week. The BAD news is: This means more homework for you!
Lesson 8 - The class split into smaller groups & practised FIELD SERVICE PRESENTATIONS & tried adding what they learnt last week by SHOWING PERSONAL INTEREST.
Anh Sơn taught the class a new sentence: "Chúng tôi làm việc thiện” which means “We do community work”. This is a valuable sentence to learn & use in our ministry. The class also practised saying: "Chúng tôi mời anh/chị đọc tờ giấy này/ tạp chí nay” using the backwards drill method.
Anh Sơn taught us a new song! We all sang along with anh Sơn :o)
