Revision of sounds from last week

In Vietnamese, B and P are pronounced the same. How do we differenciate between the two when spelling? Easy! It's P for Phở and B for Bò.

Lesson Two - Language Structure
The class received a 'Pocket Universal Language Generator'. This is an empty universal language generator so that whatever sentence you want to construct you can slot the words into this generator and be confident you have the sentence structure correct.
More Language structure - This week the class learnt BỊ - DƯỢC, KHÔNG CHẲNG and the many uses of the word CÓ.
Lesson Three - Learning more of the 800 words
Revision of homework from last week - putting sentences together from the 800 words.
This week - Colours and Fruit!
The class was split into 3 groups and each group was given a plate of fruit. Each group had an instructor helping them who would hold up a piece of fruit and ask 'Trái này là trái gì?' (What fruit is this?) and 'Trái này là màu gì?' (What colour is this fruit?). The students would reply ; Trái này (đó) là trái..............' and 'Trái này (đó) là màu..........'
A few fruits not included on the sheet but that were on the plates were: Eggplant – Cà Tím, Pear – Lê and Apple – Táo / Bôm.

Lesson Five - Translation
Revision of how the class went with translating story one last week. This week we will translate story two! Don't worry.... we have the word translation sheet for this story too - but after this it will be up to the students to continue translating the bible stories book.
Lesson Six - Culture
This week we learnt all about the types of altars Vietnamese Buddhists often have around the home. We also learnt about the anniversary parties for the dead that are held each year. Read the notes here.
Lesson Seven - Field Service
We know how to introduce ourselves, introduce our partner and ask the householder their name. Today we learnt how to ask a question. The class received a new presentation based on the Peaceful New World tract.
