Lesson One - Tones and Pronunciation - Alphabet

The class reviewed what they had learnt so far of the Alphabet. They then learnt the rest of the alphabet.

Lesson Two - 300/800 words - Routines

Anthony, with the help of the class, wrote out (in Vietnamese) the schedule for what we might go about doing on a typical Saturday.

He then acted some of these words and the class had to guess what he had acted.

When a student guessed the word correctly, that student had to get up on stage and act out a different word for the class to guess.

Anh Anthony then gave out a sheet with some pictures of a couples routine. For homework, please complete this handout and return it next week for marking.

Lesson Three - Final Assignments

The class received their assignments for the last week of the class. Each student will give a Theocratic Ministry School type part for the final class in 4 weeks time. Sisters will, of course, do this in pairs; they will each prepare a talk, and also play the part of householder. To make it fair, the brothers will give a number 3 type talk and a bible reading. The talks will go for 3 to 5 minutes and can be on any theocratic subject they choose. Don’t forget, if you choose a subject from the Ministry School schedule, let Anthony or Anh Sơn know so they can book you in for that very talk when it comes up at the meeting – this way you can have months to perfect your first Vietnamese talk. To aid in this, the students received the TMS schedule for the rest of the year in both English and Vietnamese - Not all the talks are the same! In fact, only one per week (aside from the bible reading) is the same. The students marked the talks that were the same - beware the reference material may not be the same, try to use the references given in the Vietnamese schedule.

Try to do as much of this assignment yourself as you can, using all the excellent tools and references you have received over the duration of the course. When you have translated all that you possibly can, then – and only then – take it to a Vietnamese person for final corrections. Have fun with this assignment, all the instructors have no doubt that you will all do a fantastic job!

Lesson Four - Reading - The N story and the C's stories

These stories are Vietnamese tongue twisters! If you can conquer these you will have mastered your Ns and Cs. Having trouble with the pronunciation of these stories is natural, even native Vietnamese speakers struggle! Keep practicing, you'll get there.

Lesson Five - Dictation

Review of some of the difficult sounds from last week, then on to the last dictation of the class. That's right, last dictation ever! This weeks dictation was taken from the 'Listen to God and Live Forever' brochure, page 31. The students will take their dictation home this week and mark it themselves.

Lesson Six - Field Service

This time was used to practice of bible study presentation the students received last week.
